Voluntas: Social Entrepreneurs – „From Cowboys to Diplomats“

„This entrepreneurial activity inherently undermines the credibility of traditional civil society organisations, since why should people donate when you can solve the problem while making money at the same time?“ Eine Kooperation mit NPOs, deren Legitimität auf ihrer wertebasierten, nicht gewinnorientierten Ausrichtung beruhe, sei für Sozialunternehmer daher auch in Zukunft unwahrscheinlicher als eine Zusammenarbeit mit profitorientierten Unternehmen, so die Autoren. That gives them their unique position to understand both and to come up with innovative solutions to complex problems, but it also means that they are expected to be sensitive to the people that populate the regimes on either side of their position. They should forget about the romanticism of pioneering cowboys, and focus on how to be the bridging diplomats.“
